We offer viral packaging service including lentiviruses and AAVs for protein overexpression or knockdown. Viral vector plasmids are either provided by the customer or the Virus facility service.
Properties of viral vectors
• Safety : The viral vectors are modified in such a way as to minimize the risk of viral replication.
• Low toxicity : The viral vector have a minimal effect on the physiology of the cell it infects.
• Broad or cell-specific targeting : Most viral vectors are engineered to infect wide ranges of cell types. However, sometimes the opposite is preferred. They can be modified to target the virus to a specific kind of cell.
• Efficiency : Viral gene delivery can be performed both in-vitro and in-vivo with gene delivery efficiencies approaching 95–100%.
