Moue Colony Expansion
In Vitro Fertilization is to fertilize the cultured oocytes with sperm in a culture dish, and then
transferring the embryos into the genital tract of pseudo-pregnant female mice.
- • This is a key technique for maintaining mouse lines, including rescue of the mouse with low
reproductivity,
generation of specific pathogen free mice and large number of offspring production at a given time.
- • Especially for the purpose of in vivo experiment, this method is highly efficient as it allows for rapid
strain expansion and generation of age-matched colony at once. Without using large number of male mice for
traditional breeding method, only one or two males are needed in this method.
- • Consequently, mouse colony expansion through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) helps us to save our effort in
managing natural mating mouse cages, save the live mouse resources as well as time.
- • We hope that our service will expand your research to the areas that you have never explored before.
