The aging immune system exhibits various functional declines, including reduced immune surveillance, and impaired
response to infections. Our research focuses on elucidating how T cell-specific immunosenescence dictates the
pathogenesis and progression of viral diseases
To unravel how these processes impairs anti-viral immunity, we focus on three strategic pillars:
- 1) Exploring the mechanisms of T cell senescence induction in vivo
- 2) Defining the distinct molecular landscapes between senescence and exhaustion in T cells during chronic infection and cancer
- 3) Examining immune surveillance of tissue senescence induced by infection
