** Place: B106
** Speaker: Dr. Geon-Bo Kim (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory)
** TITLE : “Magnetic Microcalorimeter Applications at LLNL
"** Abstracts:
Magnetic Microcalorimeters (MMCs) are being used in a wide range of applications at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), including the plutonium-based keV sterile neutrino search (MAGNETO-ν), diamond-based dark matter detector development, nuclear material analysis for international nuclear safeguards and forensics, and improving nuclear decay data. This talk will introduce these research activities, with an emphasis on neutrino and dark matter research, and explore potential future collaborations between the Center for Underground Physics and the MMC group at LLNL.
