Light nuclei can form cluster configurations such as 6Li (a+d), 7Li(a+t),
9Be (a+a+n+n) and 10C (a+a+p+p). Some other such as 6He, 8B and 11Li
are well known to exhibit exotic configurations of halo or Borromean
structure, where the weakly-bound valence particles orbit a core.
Correlations of the valence particles and the strong coupling with the
continuum can significantly distort the shell structure as well as the
collective properties of these weakly bound exotic nuclei. Angular
distributions for the elastic scattering process induced by these
particles may be affected by their exotic configurations.
In this talk I will present a discussion on the static and dynamic effects,
due to the cluster configurations of these nuclei, on the angular
distributions data for the elastic scattering.
Resonant scattering can also be used to investigate cluster structure.
I will present some recent results obtained for the 10B+p and 11B+p
measurements.
