The CSC is pleased to welcome its new IBS research fellow, Dr. Kyeng Min Park.
Dr. Park obtained his Ph.D in 2009 under the supervision of Professor Kimoon Kim in chemistry at POSTECH. During his
Ph.D., he had studied on supramolecular assemblies and their bioapplications using cucurbiturils (macrocyclic molecules
consisting of glycoluril repeat units) and its derivatives. In 2010, he joined the Whitesides group at Harvard University for
his postdoctoral researches on chemical communication, 3D cell culture and lateral analysis of cells attached on
surfaces until 2012. Then, he moved to semiconductor R&D center in Samsung electronics as a senior researcher to
develop inorganic-organic hybrid photoresist materials for high resolution nanopatterning until 2014 before joining IBS as
a research fellow. He has published papers in premier peer-review journals including Nature Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc.,
Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater. ACS Nano, Chem. Commun etc. and granted patents in US, Europe, Japan as well as
Korea. Based on these cumulative experiences and knowledge of supramolecular and nanomaterials chemistry, he would
very much like to prepare valuable functional materials for various bioapplications including therapeutics delivery, labelling
and detection of biomolecules, 3D cell culture and tissue engineering.
CSC is actively searching for a post-doc and graduate students who will be self-motivated and dedicated to the research subjects mentioned above.
