The CSC is so glad to announce our previous post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Zahid Hassan who served as a synthetic chemist for CSC until March 2014 has been recently appointed as an assistant professor at University of Oman.

Dr. Hassan received his Ph.D. in 2012 from Institut für Organische Chemie, Universität Rostock, Germany, where he also conducted his post-doctoral research before he joined CSC. During his stay at CSC, he worked on development of heterogeneous catalyst (metal nanoparticle-decorated polymer nanocapsule) for carbon-carbon and carbon-nitrogen bond formation reactions in aqueous media. All his efforts to the synthesis proved to play an important role in having our recent paper accepted for the publication in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. in April 2014. The CSC appreciates Dr. Hassan’s key contribution and would like to offer him congratulations on his new position he deserves.
