D.S. Ahn of CENS, expert in rare isotope separation and identification techniques, contributed to the discovery of five new neutron-rich isotopes (182,183Tm, 186,187Yb and 190Lu) at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) in the US, via fragmentation of 198Pt primary beam on a carbon target.
The findings were published in Physical Review Letters, and also featured as a highlight in Physics.
