Postdoctoral fellowship in Low-Temperature Detectors for Underground Astroparticle Physics
The Center for Underground Physics(CUP, http://cupweb.ibs.re.kr/html/cup_en/)at the Institute for Basic Science(IBS, http://www.ibs.re.kr/eng.do) in Daejeon, Korea has immediate openings for postdoctoral fellows in underground astroparticle physics. Successful candidates will be involved in low-temperature detector development for neutrinoless double beta decay(AMORE) and dark matter search(KIMS) experiments. Most of the work will be carried in IBS laboratoris in Daejeon and Yangyang Underground laboratory(Y2L). Collaborative research on new experiments or new detector technologies will be a part of our activities. Candidates with outstanding achivements and potentials can be considered for a tenure-track position at IBS.
Candidates should have a Ph.D and a strong experimental background in one or more of the following fields: cryogenic particle detection, precision measurement at low temperatures, fabrication of (superconducting) sensors and detectors, Monte Carlo simulations, and other relevant subjects in rare event search applications.
For postdoctoral follows, initial contract would be for two years, with possible extention for three more years.Theose interested should send their CV, a brief description of their research interests in one page, a list of publications featuring three highlights, and three reference letters by Oct 31, 2016.
For more information, candidates should contact Yong-Hamb Kim at yhk@ibs.re.kr. Application documents should be sent to Mr. byungjin Choi at bjchoi@ibs.re.kr. Reference letters should be sent to Mr. Choi directly from the writers.
