** TITLE : “Search for an Axion-Like Particle in B→K(∗)a(→γγ) Decays at Belle”
** Abstracts:
This presentation reports on a search for axion-like particles through B→K(*)a(→γγ) decays using Belle detector data from the KEKB electron-positron collider. The analysis is based on 711fb⁻¹ of data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance, corresponding to 772×10⁶ Υ(4S) events. We search for axion-like particle decays into photon pairs by scanning the two-photon invariant mass in the range 0.16-4.50 GeV/c² for K modes and 0.16-4.20 GeV/c² for K* modes.
No significant signal is observed, allowing us to establish 90% confidence level upper limits on the coupling to the W boson, g_{aW}, ranging from 3×10⁻⁶ GeV⁻¹ to 3×10⁻⁵ GeV⁻¹. These results improve the current constraints on g_{aW} by approximately a factor of two compared to previous experimental limits. The presentation will cover the theoretical motivation, experimental methodology, and implications for beyond-Standard-Model physics searches.
